Absorbing Silica Gel Cat Litters

Silica gel is a synthetic material (dried gel of polysilicic acid). It is transparent or translucent silica granules. By structure it is a highly porous body formed by tiny fused spherical particles. Silica gel is preparing as follows: act on a solution of sodium or potassium silicate with hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid, and then the solidified product is broken into pieces, washed with water, dried, pulverized, calcined and fractionated to remove all moisture.

The material efficiently absorbs water, alcohol, benzene, gasoline, all kinds of organic solvents and vapors of sulfuric acid. Silica gel is not volatile, odorless, does not dissolve in water. Harmless to humans and animals.

Advantages of Silica Gel Cat Litters:

• Can throw to sewerage.

Disadvantages of Silica Gel Cat Litters:

• Synthetic material, may require additional adaption.
• The need of regular mixing during its use.
• The high price of the product.
• Because of the very active moisture absorption can dry paws.
